Soil Health Workshop

Soil Health Workshop

Tuesday, 22nd October - Matarae, Middlemarch

The Whole Story is proud to be partnering with The New Zealand Merino Company and Agrownomics to bring you this soil health workshop at Matarae.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A NEW ZEALAND MERINO SUPPLIER TO ATTEND. With the support of the MPI Integrated Farm Planning Fund we have been able to open this up to the entire catchment.

Agrownomics, an established soil consultancy company based in Christchurch, will lead this workshop.

Come and hear about ways to improve your soil health on-farm. The workshop will cover:

• fundamental aspects of soil health,

• address issues such as thatch buildup

• importance of proper land preparation

• various approaches to weed issues and species persistence

• practical sessions in the field on visual soil assessments.

After attending this workshop you will leave with actionable, realistic, and valuable steps you can take with your farming practices to improve soil health.

Huge thanks to Emily, Willie, Ron and Juliet Jones for hosting this day.
