Otago Catchment Community is funded to support catchments working to improve the environment throughout Otago.
We have two main long-term funders Otago Regional Council and the Ministry for Primary Industries.
Additionally, we are supported through the Wai Connection project administered by the Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust.
We are very thankful to our sponsors.
Ka mihi nui ki a koe (massive thanks) to Otago Regional Council.
ORC are the key supporters for the inception of Otago Catchments Community Inc.
ORC’s backing for the vision of this organisation has been integral to fulfill the first steps of this much needed model of support, liaison and action based work with Otago’s catchment groups.
We are grateful for this support and look forward to a positive and enduring relationship with ORC into the future so that OCC can continue to support Otago’s catchment groups.
MPI have also supported OCC through funding which allows us to boost the capabilities of OCC and help the team get support and action where it is most needed - on the ground, with the catchment groups.
We look forward to a great relationship with MPI and extending this out across our region!
Wai Connection
Funding through the Wai Connection project has allowed us to identify training and support needs of Otago’s catchment groups. It has allowed to continue to support and empower these groups to continue their important mahi in Otago. This funding was run in 2024-2025 and we hope this will continue into the future.
