Waiwera South School Stream Study Day

On Wednesday 14 September, the SMiddle Class spent the day down at the Waiwera Corner continuing their Stream study. They spent the morning monitoring and looking at the health of the Waiwera River, and were pleased to find out that it appears to be in very good health, and had a lot of sensitive aquatic life. They spent the afternoon planting out some of the natives that they have grown at school, a lot of Makura, Kōwhai, Tī Kōuka, Toetoe and Manatu. Planting over 100 plants! They finished the day finding an eel in the trap Craig had set over night. A big thank you to Craig Simpson - Otago South River Care and Scott Martin - CDC - Enviroschools.
