Toitu Te Hakapupu/Pleasant River Community Planting Day

Join our community planting day on Sunday, 18 August!

Help support planting efforts and contribute to improving water quality in the Pleasant River catchment — with a coffee, an ice cream and a sausage or two!

The event is from 11am-2pm, held at Hagan property on Tumai Road, Flag Swamp.

Holes will be pre-dug with hundreds of native plants ready to go in the ground.

Please BYO shovel, gumboots and gloves.

Snacks will be provided; there’ll be a BBQ onsite, a coffee cart and Mr Whippy — plenty of refreshments to keep you going!

Paddock parking will be available off Tumai Road. Here's a Google Maps link for the location:

Look for the flags — but take caution entering the property off the Palmerston-Waikouaiti Road SH1 as this is a long, straight stretch of road.

So come along, bring your family, your friends, your flatmates — we’d love to see you there!

This work is part of the Toitū Te Hakapupu project.

Toitū Te Hakapupu is a four-year Jobs for Nature partnership project between us and Kāti Huirapa Runaka ki Puketeraki in collaboration with East Otago Catchment Group — and you, the community.
