OCC Seed Funding Hits The Spot

A letter to OCC…..

Thank you OCC for supporting our Waiwera South Catchment Native Planting workshop. 

We covered setting up your home/farm nursery, low cost set up, and motivating people to give it a go, with a couple already having their own nursery. 

We then covered the whole growing process, seed collecting, germination, pricking out, potting and riparian planting. 

The event was about reducing barriers to get started so everyone was able to go home with potting mix, seeds and some seedlings ready to pot. Emphasising you can do a lot with recycled containers and a garden sprinkler. 

With the support of Otago South River Care we thank OCC for their funding and support. What they are set up for and how they support the community. We explained there is future funding options if people have some exciting projects in mind. Reiterated their is some great work in the community catchment space to work together.

Once again thankyou for your support, its great seeing people get excited about growing their own native plants.
